A recent study evaluated the effectiveness of extended-release non-stimulant metadoxine in the management of adult ADHD symptoms. A total of 120 adults with ADHD were randomized in a double blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-design study of metadoxine at doses of 1,400 mg/day for 6 weeks. Participants rated their ADHD symptoms, inhibition, inattention, and quality of life. Adults who received metadoxine reported improvement in all areas, with results appearing as early as two weeks. The authors concluded that metadoxine is a well-tolerated and effective treatment for adult ADHD. Common side effects included nausea, fatigue, and headache.
