Hello!
If you have found your way to this page it is likely that you are struggling with something significant in your life. It can be a relationship, personal concern, or professional issue, and sometimes it's all of those things at once. No matter what brought you here I'm glad it did. Finding the right counselor can sometimes be the thing that stops someone from seeking help to begin with, and I see it as my job to help you feel safe and accepted with me as your therapist. Let me tell you a little about myself in order to help you determine if you'd like to move forward.
I received my Masters of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2010 and for the past 10 years I have worked with individuals and families from a variety of backgrounds who have struggled with a variety of concerns. I have worked with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and the elderly about issues ranging from depression/anxiety, chronic illnesses, addiction/eating disorders, grief/loss, relationship struggles, identity crises, and stage-of-life struggles. It is my aim to provide a non-judgmental, objective, and critical look at whatever it is you're finding difficult right now and help you navigate these struggles while remaining open and kind.
I also firmly believe that mental health doesn't have to always be heavy or dreary and that finding greater psychological flexibility can be a fun (and sometimes funny) journey of self-discovery. I pride myself on finding joy, even in difficult times, while still respecting the gravity and pain of what you are experiencing.
I know finding a therapist can be vulnerable and hard. If you think we might be a good match, I would be honored to work with you.
