Kirby Luna, LMFT Associate helps children and families find joy. Her goal is to create an environment of healing and growth through responsive service, empathy, and understanding. This is accomplished through assisting children, teens, and their families in taking charge of their mental health to relieve emotional distress.
She has experience helping children and their parents navigate strenuous times. Some of those children have been diagnosed with ADHD, autism, depression, and anxiety. She also has supported families and children through adoption transitions, behavioral problems, grief, life transitions, communication, parenting, and reconnecting as a family. Kirby Luna practices from a family systems and collaborative approach to help your family meet their goals.
The following services are offered at the Tarnow Center: play therapy (ages 3-10), sibling session, family counseling, individual sessions (ages 10+), and telehealth services.

Lesley Solomon LPC is a psychotherapist and has worked at The Tarnow Center for Self Management for 24 years. Lesley received her Masters in Psychology at Houston Baptist University. She completed her undergraduate work in Cape Town, South Africa. Lesley immigrated to the United States in 1977.
Lesley works with adults and young adults. She uses an eclectic approach to therapy with an emphasis on mood disorders, trauma and stage of life struggles
Lesley is trained in ART Accelerated Resolution Therapy which helps clients address common problems such as depression, anxiety, phobias and trauma.
She is a member of IS-ART the International Society of Accelerated Resolution Therapy.

Clinical PsychologistENGLISH Lourdes M. Valdés is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. Dr. Valdés performs psychological evaluations and individual, family, and group psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults. She treats and manages a variety of disorders including anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, conduct disorder, autistic spectrum disorders, elimination disorders, and attention difficulties. Dr. Valdés particularly enjoys working with families to help them find ways to more positively interact with their children and effectively manage and nurture their behavior. Her therapy often focuses on understanding how our thoughts, beliefs, and perceptions can affect our mood, behavior, and self-management. Dr. Valdés, who is equally fluent in English and Spanish, has received specialized training in working with children and adolescents with medical problems and concurrent psychological concerns. Dr. Valdés received her doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh and completed her clinical psychology internship at Baylor College of Medicine. She also received post-doctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine and at Texas Children's Hospital. She has conducted clinical research in the following areas: behavior disorders in children with developmental disabilities, correlates of post-partum depression, and toddler's development of a sense of self. Dr. Valdés is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society of Pediatric Psychology (division 54 of APA), the Texas Psychological Association, the Houston Psychological Association, and the Houston Group Psychotherapy Society. La Dra. Valdés realiza evaluaciones psicológicas y psicoterapia individual, familiar y de grupo con niños, adolescentes y adultos. Ella trata y gestiona una variedad de trastornos incluyendo la ansiedad, el trastorno obsesivo-compulsivo, el trastorno de comportamiento, trastornos del espectro autístico, trastornos de eliminación y dificultades de atención. La Dra. Valdés disfruta en particular ayudar a las familias a encontrar maneras más positivas de interactuar con sus niños y de manejar y cultivar eficazmente el comportamiento de los mismos. Linda Narun, M.A., CCC-SLP is a Speech/Language Pathologist, holding certification with the American Speech and Hearing Association and licensed to practice in Texas. She worked at Texas Children's Hospital in the Department of Speech, Language, and Learning for 14 years. She was a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Otolaryngology at Baylor College of Medicine. She joined the Tarnow Center for Self-Management in the fall of 1992. She is a member of TSHA, ASHA, HAACD, and the International Dyslexia Society, on which she has served as a board member.
Ms. Narun completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. She was later on their faculty as Senior Lecturer and Clinic Supervisor. She started therapeutic preschool units for children with language and hearing disorders which became training centers for speech pathologists, psychologists, and social workers.
She has many years of experience with children and adults in the diagnosis and treatment of speech, language, and learning disorders, including Attention Deficit Disorder.
Lynn Ayres, M.Ed. received her Master's Degree in diagnostics from the University of Houston, specializing in special education, learning disabilities, and psychology. She completed her post-graduate courses in Learning Styles, Neuro-Psychology, The Brain, Drug and Alcohol Intervention, Group Facilitator Training, Individualized Instruction, Assessment and Curriculum.
Ms. Ayres is Certified as an educational diagnostician and teacher in the areas of mental retardation, learning disabilities, and elementary education. Ms. Ayres has worked as a learning disabilities resource teacher and educational diagnostician in the Spring Branch Independent School District for 18 years. Most recently, she lived overseas where she continued working as an educational diagnostician, resource teacher, and counselor.
Ms. Ayres specializes in evaluating intellectual, educational, and perceptual abilities, as well as learning styles and learning behaviors which influence learning. She consults with parents, school personnel, and private professionals. She assists in developing and implementing individual educational plans, educational management strategies, instructional accommodations, and modifications.
