Herman Adler, MA

Herman B. Adler, MA, of Houston, is a practicing licensed psychological associate with independent practice. Mr. Adler is an associate member of the American Psychological Association and a member of the Texas Association of Psychological Associates. He received a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Arts in clinical psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.

 

Mr. Adler has over 15 years of experience in the mental health field providing psychological testing and psychotherapy. He has extensive experience in ADHD evaluations, cognitive testing, and personality testing to clarify and/or rule out diagnoses in order to inform personal treatment plans to help clients reach their goals, improve their mental health, as well as their overall quality of life.

 

Mr. Adler’s approach to therapy is cognitive-based, meaning, he systematically and gently challenges clients to examine any automatic negative thoughts (self-defeating or self-critical beliefs) that may be holding them back from achieving their goals and helps them to reframe these thoughts to be more realistic and positive. Clients who struggle with social skills, self-esteem, self-compassion, self-worth, self-confidence, and self-identity can especially benefit from this approach. 

 

In addition, Mr. Adler is also a dedicated public servant and member of Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists where he is involved in regulating the field of psychology and ensuring the provision of best-in-class psychological services to people of Texas.
