The Bridge to Competence:
A Workshop for Parents
Presented by Jay D. Tarnow, M.D.
Saturday, September 10th, 2011
9am to 12pm
Do you have children that would benefit from a more structured behavioral plan?
This workshop is designed to give you the knowlege, skills, and tools you will need to prepare your children for success. The materials contained in this seminar are based on Dr. Tarnow's 30 years of expreience as a child/adolescent psychiatrist, and his experience raising three daughters of his own.
The workshop will teach you to teach your children appropriate self-management skills. Specifically, you will learn how to:
- Accurately assess your child's strenghts and weaknesses
- Identify specific hurdles that seem to get in the way of his/her progress
- Create behaviors that will help your children overcome these obstacles
- Properly reinforce these behaviors until they become second-nature
- Evaluate and adapt your program as your child matures
The SMART Family System, a web-based behavioral program, will be utilized as a tool for demonstrating these self-management techniques.
